Every disabled person wants to stay active. The weight of the wheelchair is an essential element on the way to achieving this desire.  Active wheelchairs allow for independence and full activity to a large extent. Their special design allows for a weight of less than 5 kg.  Such weight results in the loss of unnecessary elements such as the backrest, armrests or extensive brakes.

The wheelchairs presented below meet the requirements of light and active wheelchairs, but are included
in two dimensions.

  • Lightest weight carts

  • Lightest weight trucks in their category np: The lightest steel truck.

Characteristics of light trucks

Each lightweight and ultra-light wheelchair is designed with the assumption of the lowest possible weight and the highest possible rigidity. In this case, the achievements of the latest technology and technical solutions are used.

The construction of the frame must be as simple as possible and it is always a closed frame. Technology is used in the construction of wheelchair frameshydroforming allows you to reduce weight while increasing stiffness and giving the frame tubes the perfect look and strength. The most modern alloy materials are used in lightweight wheelchairs. Chromium-molybdenum, titanium or the highest quality aluminum or recently fashionable composites or carbon fiber. The latter solution allows the weight of the stroller frame up to 3kg.

In a light and ultra-light wheelchair, additional equipment or additional functions are unnecessary the folding backrest or adjustment of the center of gravity are eliminated during the design process, and often the wheelchairs are prepared for individual customer orders._cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_

The ultra-light wheelchair is by definition a wheelchair for active people. We often see very difficult patients who ride them because they would not be able to move in heavier wheelchairs. For such people, each kilogram becomes an insurmountable barrier.

When choosing an ultralight or active stroller, you should remember about self-discipline related to its own weight. Too much weight gain can unbalance your center of gravity and become dangerous while riding.

Active strollers are by definition very durable strollers because they are made of the best kind of materials.
In wheelchairs of this type, wheelchair users can go down the stairs,  or ride downhill on the so-called area.
Riding in balance is no longer a trick but a duty.

A typical lightweight active wheelchair is characterized by:

Simplicity

Such a stroller is devoid of all accessories such as mudguards, folding backrest or headrests. Here, the weight determines the amount of fatigue and ease of movement. The frame of the stroller is usually fixed, closed, with the most common fixed footrest.

individualized

The parameters of length, weight or width are taken directly from the person who wants to use the wheelchair, and the wheelchair is welded or the frame is bent and formed from scratch for these dimensions. The width of the trolley can also be adjusted without getting off the trolley.

Brakes, front wheels, rear wheels and seatit's less of a problem to choose from, but always remember what the stroller is supposed to be used for. Changing at least one of these elements can dramatically change the way and feeling of driving, both positively and negatively.

One last note.

We should not be afraid of active wheelchairs. Of course, they require some work and learning how to move them differently, but that's just technique. You can always control it. It is also important not to throw yourself into the most expensive wheelchair right away in the first days of disability, but after a few hours spent on different wheelchairs to know what you can do and what your own disability allows.
